The GCB MasterCard Debit cards are important payment instruments and for the protection of cardholders, they (cards) need to be properly taken care of.
Here are few safety tips and best ways to use your GCB MasterCard:
- Keep your card in a secure place, and treat it as if it was cash. Always store it in the protective sleeve.
- Remember to take back your card after completing your transaction at any Automated Teller Machine (ATM) or Point of Sale (POS) device.
- Do not bend your card or place it close to other magnetic materials, or expose it to direct sunlight.
- Never give your card to anyone.
- Do not accept assistance from strangers when using your card.
- Keep your PIN private. Destroy the PIN advice after memorizing it.
- You can change your PIN at any time on GCB ATMs.
- As extra security and precautionary measure, regularly change your PIN at any GCB ATM.
- Never write your PIN on your card.
- Make sure no one sees your PIN when you use it on an ATM or POS device.
- Always observe your surroundings before conducting an ATM transaction.
- If you use an outdoor ATM, use one that is well lit and visible.
- Always be aware, alert and prepared to act when visiting an ATM.
- Minimize time spent at the ATM.
- Do not just walk straight up to an ATM. Always look around for suspicious cars or persons.
